ESAB COMBIREX DX3000 CNC plasma and oxy-fuel cutting system, manufactured March 2012. Currently in service and operating as expected, cutting cleanly.

The machine features a usable cutting area of 93″ wide × 205″ long (8-ft table class) and is equipped with both a high-definition plasma torch and a large oxy-propane torch on a single gantry platform. The split-level water table raises and lowers via shop air, allowing water-up cutting for fume control or water-down for material handling and maintenance. An air curtain system is also fitted and operational using shop air. The CNC control runs on Windows XP with no software modifications; the system is stable and operating normally.

The plasma power supply is an ESAB EPP-360, rated 10–360 amps at 100% duty cycle, 200V output, 460V/3-phase/60Hz input at 115A, fan cooled. Plasma cutting capability includes a clean/recommended cut of approximately 1.25″–1.5″ on carbon steel, with maximum severance of approximately 2″+ depending on setup, consumables, and material condition. The oxy-propane torch is configured for heavy plate work, with oxy-fuel edge-start capability up to approximately 8″ (200 mm) steel and piercing up to approximately 6″ (150 mm) steel with one torch; thickness capability is configuration, fuel, and setup dependent. The system is capable of cutting aluminum; standard industrial safety precautions apply when cutting aluminum on a water table due to hydrogen gas risk.

Included with the machine: a large quantity of spare consumables (tips and nozzles), a spare coolant circulation pump, approximately 21 original ESAB manuals, and additional spare parts (see photos).
