Item description:

Six antique customer shaving mugs marked by occupation and/or name.   Per AI citing BellingHistory and 3 other sources:  “Kept on special shelves at the local barbershop, they ensured hygienic straight-razor shaves by preventing the sharing of soap and brushes.”  More than a century old and used often, some of the mugs in this lot are in rough shape.  This lot features six mugs as pictured, one made in Germany and three in Limoges, France – one with crazing, others with finish loss, cracks and more.
