Amazing 1963 British MG MGB Roadster, desirable early-production “pull-handle” model from the first full year of MGB production. Chassis GHN3L10127, featuring classic cream-colored exterior, black convertible soft top, black interior with contrasting piping, chrome bumpers, distinctive pull-handle doors, and traditional British sports car styling.
An early example of one of the most iconic British sports cars ever produced.
Introduced in 1962 as the successor to the MGA, the MGB combined traditional British roadster character with unit-body construction,
roll-up windows, front disc brakes and a 1.8-liter B-Series engine. The 1963 model represents the first full year of MGB production.
A DESIRABLE EARLY MGB
This example, chassis GHN3L10127, dates from 1963. Published production records indicate that calendar-year 1963 production
began at chassis #4619, placing #10127 relatively early in that year’s production. It belongs to the desirable early generation commonly
known as the “pull-handle” MGB, named for its distinctive exterior door handles.
Pull-handle cars were produced only from May 1962 through April 1965. The North American MGB Register documents approximately
57,885 examples across the entire pull-handle production period, with 23,308 MGB roadsters produced during 1963.
THE MGB IN ITS ORIGINAL FORM
• 1,798cc B-Series four-cylinder
• Front disc brakes
• Twin SU carburetors
• Chrome-bumper styling
• Four-speed manual transmission
• Distinctive pull-handle bodywork
Early cars are associated with the three-main-bearing 18G engine specification; the engine number on this particular car should be verified before representing
the installed engine as original.
63 YEARS OF CHARACTER
This MGB presents with the patina and personality of a genuinely vintage British roadster. Its appeal is the opportunity to preserve and
enjoy it as it stands, sympathetically recommission it as a driver, or restore an increasingly distinctive early-production MGB.
