A beautiful vintage print by the celebrated Cincinnati illustrator and Cincinnati Enquirer artist, Caroline Williams (American, 1908–1988).
This piece showcases Williams’ signature intricate pen-and-ink style, capturing a historic winter view looking down Piatt Park / Garfield Place in downtown Cincinnati. The composition beautifully highlights the equestrian statue of President James A. Garfield in the foreground, flanked by bare trees and leading the eye toward the historic spires of the Covenant First Presbyterian Church.
Signed “Caroline Williams” in pencil along the lower margin (left) and also signed within the image (right). Presented under glass with a cream mat featuring a narrow tan accent border and a black frame with gold-tone trim.
Overall framed dimensions are approximately 16″x12″
Pre-owned condition with age-related wear. The mat shows noticeable discoloration, spotting, marks, and general age toning throughout. The frame has scratches, scuffs, finish wear, and small areas of loss.
