Original oil painting titled “Sentinels of the Woods,” depicting a quiet wooded waterscape with tall mature trees rising along the bank, reflective water, rocks, and a softly rendered forest in the distance. The muted green, brown, and earth-tone palette gives the scene a peaceful, atmospheric quality, with textured brushwork especially noticeable throughout the tree trunks and foreground.
The reverse is handwritten “Oil – Original 1983 / Sentinels of the Woods” and also bears the notation “Do Not Wash! Varnished.” A small painted signature or initials are present in the lower right corner of the artwork, though the artist’s name is not clearly legible.
Measures approximately 32” x 19” overall including the frame. Presented in a substantial wood-tone frame with green accent detailing, a light fabric-lined inner border, and gold-tone inner trim. Hanging wire is attached on the reverse.
Pre-owned vintage condition with age-related wear. Painting shows scattered surface marks, light scratches, discoloration, and general wear. Frame has scratches, scuffs, finish wear, small losses, and other cosmetic wear from age and display. Reverse backing has tears, punctures, staining, tape, handwritten notations, and general wear. Artwork remains attractive and displays well overall.
