Item description:

Designation: Series 1953 $2 United States Note (Legal Tender Red Seal)
Mintage Year: Series 1953 (Produced under the Friedberg catalog system as Fr. 1509)
Mint Location: Printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) in Washington, D.C.
Denomination: Two Dollars ($2.00 USD)
Composition: Standard United States currency paper (75% Cotton, 25% Linen with embedded security fibers)
Grade/Condition: Circulated / Fine to Very Fine (F/VF Details)
Design & Mint Identification: This note features the signature combination of Treasurer Ivy Baker Priest and Secretary of the Treasury George M. Humphrey. The red Treasury seal is cleanly positioned on the right side of the note, overlaid across a large gray numeral “TWO.” The reverse side depicts the iconic vignette of Monticello, which was later replaced in 1976 by the Declaration of Independence signing scene.
Condition & Eye Appeal Notes: The note shows classic signs of honest circulation, exhibiting typical vertical and horizontal folding creases, general handling smudges, and minor crispness loss standard for a mid-grade bill. The paper retains uniform margins with zero heavy staining, annotations, or major structural tears. The red ink on the Treasury seal and serial numbers remains bold and highly legible.
