Design Details:
Obverse: Features Adolph A. Weinman’s iconic “Walking Liberty” design. Lady Liberty strides gracefully toward a rising sun while draped in the American flag, carrying large branches of laurel and oak leaves.
Reverse: Features John Mercanti’s classic Heraldic Eagle with shield design. The majestic eagle clutches an olive branch and arrows beneath a triangular canopy of 13 stars. This represents the original Type 1 reverse layout used before the 2021 update.
Condition & Eye Appeal Notes:
Surfaces: Certified as a high-grade investment piece at the MS69 tier by NGC. The coin displays beautiful eye appeal with complete, intensely bright white satin cartwheel mint luster. The face profiles are pristine and completely free of handling marks, heavy hairline scratches, or distracting storage spot blemishes.
Striking Analysis: Sharply struck with crisp, early-die definition lines running through Liberty’s flowing gown and the deep plumage of the reverse heraldic eagle.
Slab Condition: Securely encapsulated in a standard clear, tamper-resistant NGC protective plastic holder featuring a specialized “West Point Gold Star” themed label. The reverse features an intact holographic NGC security shield sticker over the barcoded registry side. The holder shell retains excellent clarity.
