Item description:

Designation: 2003 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Bullion Coin
Mintage Year: 2003
Mint Location: Royal Canadian Mint (Ottawa, Canada)
Denomination: Five Dollars ($5 CAD)
Composition: 1 Troy Ounce of .9999 Fine Silver (Four-Nines Pure)
Grade/Condition: Brilliant Uncirculated (BU)
Design & Series Significance:
Collectible Low-Mintage Year: The 2003 issue features a lower overall mintage of 684,750 coins, giving it stronger numismatic demand compared to higher-mintage modern dates.
Obverse: Features Dora de Pédery-Hunt’s iconic, crowned portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the King George IV State Diadem. This portrait was replaced the following year, making 2003 a significant transitional year for RCM collectors.
Reverse: Showcases Walter Ott’s classic, highly detailed single Canadian Maple Leaf design. The background features clean satin fields flanked by the “9999” purity guarantee.
Condition & Packaging Notes:
Factory Packaging: Beautifully preserved and entirely intact inside its authentic, original Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) factory-sealed clear cellophane pocket. The original soft plastic wrapper remains uncompromised, protecting the surfaces from scratches and airborne tarnishing agents.
Surface & Patina: Pristine, choice uncirculated condition beneath the protective mint plastic. The surfaces exhibit full, bright white satin mint luster with crisp definition on the fine leaf veins and peripheral lettering. Free of fingerprints, contact marks, or distracting milk spots.
