Design Details:
Obverse: Features a centralized portrait vignette of President George Washington, flanked by a blue treasury seal on the left and a large blue numeral “1” overlaid with the word “DOLLAR” on the right.
Reverse: Features the distinctive, intricate “Cogwheel” geometric pattern design unique to the 1923 series.
Condition & Packaging Notes:
Encapsulation: The note is safely held and encapsulated inside a premium, heavy-duty Lucite magnetic display holder. This clear case structuralizes the pieces for easy, safe handling and two-sided viewing.
Physical Damage Warning: This note is in heavily circulated, poorly preserved condition. It is completely torn/ripped in half vertically through the center.
Surfaces & Residue: Exhibits heavy, dark staining, localized burn-like discoloration, and significant tape residue/staining along the vertical tear from a historical repair attempt. A small center section of paper is missing where the folds intersected.
