Item description:

A beautifully vibrant, authentic vintage Grandmother’s Flower Garden patchwork quilt. This piece showcases traditional mid-century American hand-piecing, combining dozens of unique floral calicos, solids, and geometric gingham feedsack patterns into a stunning mosaic design.
Design & Construction Details
Pattern Design: Traditional Grandmother’s Flower Garden motif. Each rosette features a central hexagon patch ringed by multi-colored coordinating petals, seamlessly interconnected by solid candy-pink diamond accent panes.
Fabric Assortment: Features a rich scrap-quilt array of vintage cottons, including bright yellow daisies, retro turquoise floral blocks, mint greens, lavender sprigs, and whimsical red circular geometric patterns.
Finishing Technique: The quilt layers are secured using a traditional hand-tied method with short tufts of dark burgundy or plum yarn knotted at the center of individual hexagon blocks. The perimeter is enclosed within a solid pink binding border.
Reverse Side: Backed with a single, continuous sheet of vintage pink cotton calico printed with a dense, delicate pattern of small white and light blue flower blossoms.
Dimensions
Width: Measures approximately 64 inches (verified against the 5-foot, 4-inch tape line).
Length: Measures approximately 77 inches (extending cleanly past the 6.5-foot mark on the alignment guide).
Condition Report
Overall Appeal: The colors across the front patchwork face and reverse floral backing remain bright, warm, and highly expressive.
Condition Wear: This is a loved, authentic vintage family textile showing historic play wear and character:
Front Patchwork: Two structural separation tears are present along the hand-stitched seams between rosettes, revealing the soft interior white cotton batting beneath.
Reverse Fabric: A jagged tear measuring approximately 3 to 4 inches is located on the floral backing fabric, exposing the inner batting material.
Note: Both damaged areas are clean and easily repairable with standard applique patches or decorative hand-mending, making this a great restoration project or cozy rustic decor piece.
