Item description:

Designation: 1969-D United States Kennedy Half Dollar Business Strike
Mintage Year: 1969
Mint Location: Denver Mint ("D" Mint Mark located on the obverse side, directly above the "96" in the date)
Denomination: Fifty Cents ($0.50 USD)
Composition: 40% Fine Silver (0.1479 Troy Ounce pure silver weight)
Grade/Condition: Circulated / About Uncirculated (AU Details)
Design & Historical Significance:
The 40% Silver Era: Struck during the transitional period from 1965 to 1970 when the U.S. Mint reduced the silver content of half dollars to 40% clad, while completely eliminating silver from dimes and quarters.
Mint Mark Placement: Unlike the 1964 issues, the tiny branch mint "D" mark sits cleanly on the obverse side, tucked right above the central numbers of the "1969" date.
Condition & Eye Appeal Notes:
Toning & Luster: The fields display a soft, natural silver-gray patina with remnants of original mint luster hugging the profile edges and lettering.
Wear Analysis: Shows mild high-point friction on Kennedy's hair curves and the central shield of the reverse eagle. The strike remains strong with crisp legibility on the national motto and outer inscriptions.
Rim/Surface: Very minor typical contact marks and small bag abrasions are present in the fields. The reeded edge is complete, uniform, and structurally intact.
