Item description:

Description: A classic three-piece collection of mid-century American outdoor picnic gear designed by Petra Cabot for The Hamilton Metal Products Company. The grouping features a large cylindrical Skotch Kooler insulated ice bucket with a red swing carry handle and a lift-off lid, alongside two matching Skotch Jug insulated beverage dispensers clad in the signature red, black, and yellow tartan plaid lithographed tinplate design. The medium jug features a tan plastic top with a pour spout cap and an internal glass liner, while the smaller jug includes a wire bail handle and a detachable red plastic cup cap covering a flip-up pour spout.

Dimensions: The large Skotch Kooler stands approximately 14 inches high (excluding the handle) with a diameter of 12 inches. The middle jug stands 11.5 inches high, and the smallest jug stands 9 inches high to the top of the red cap.

Markings: The underside of the ice bucket lid features a crisp red and white corporate decal reading "the Skotch Kooler / Hamilton / THE HAMILTON METAL PRODUCTS CO. / HAMILTON, OHIO" with a Petra Cabot design attribution. The underside of the medium jug's lid features a large yellow and black graphic reading "the Skotch Jug / Hamilton / A Petra Cabot DESIGN / THE HAMILTON METAL PRODUCTS CO. / HAMILTON, OHIO". The smaller container features its original black foil neck label reading "the Skotch Jug / THE HAMILTON SKOTCH CORPORATION / Hamilton, Ohio".

Condition: Very good vintage condition. The lithographed metal finishes on all three pieces are bright and well-preserved with light surface scuffs, tiny paint nicks, and very minor scratch marks consistent with age and occasional picnic use. The interior insulated aluminum basin of the large cooler is exceptionally clean and shiny. The internal glass vacuum liner of the medium jug is completely intact and unbroken with its original rubber pouring gaskets. All handles, caps, and pour spouts are fully functional.
