Item description:

Description: A pair of vintage mid-century industrial wooden agricultural shipping crates or fruit boxes from California's Central Valley. The first crate features an end panel stamped with bold brown typography for Columbine Vineyards, designed with an open slatted base and solid pine end boards. The companion crate features a colorful, partially weathered lithographed paper brand label for East Bound Selected California Grapes, depicting a classic globe illustration flanked by bold block lettering over a dark navy background.

Dimensions: Each rectangular crate measures approximately 17.5 inches in width by 14 inches in depth, standing 7 inches in height.

Markings: The stamped crate is marked on the front face "Columbine Vineyards / Delano–California / Net Wt. 27 Lbs. / Produce of U.S.A." The companion box displays the original vintage paper label reading "EAST-BOUND BRAND / Selected California Grapes / Since 1916 / Precooled" along with the numeric hand-stamp code "12" on the raw wood above the label.

Condition: Authentic vintage industrial condition with an aged, weathered patina. The structural pine panels on both boxes are solid with original wire nails, displaying variable wood grain color, scattered scuffs, and natural storage wear. The paper label on the East Bound crate features significant historic wear, localized tearing, and edge loss as shown in the catalog photos, which adds to its authentic rustic character.
