Item description:

Description: A primitive two-piece collection of antique and vintage glass fluid kerosene lamps. The centerpiece is a large, early 20th-century table lamp featuring a spherical Flash ruby-red glass font reservoir base paired with a heavy brass collar burner assembly. Accompanying the ruby vessel is a miniature green glass accent lamp constructed with a thumbprint or hobnail textured green glass font, a short pedestal brass stand, an ornate crown-tip brass burner frame, and its matching smooth green glass chimney flue shade.

Dimensions: The large ruby-red lamp base stands approximately 7.25 inches high to the top of the burner assembly, with a total font diameter of 7.5 inches. The green hobnail lamp stands 10.5 inches in total vertical height to the top of the glass chimney, with a base diameter of 3.25 inches.

Markings: The scalloped brass wick-turn knob on the ruby-red lamp is deeply stamped with the historical manufacturer attribution reading "P & A DORSET / MADE IN U.S.A. / THOMASTON CONN.", identifying production by the Plume & Atwood Manufacturing Company. The fluted brass wick adjustment knob on the small green lamp is stamped with a flower-shaped border reading "MADE IN HONG KONG".

Condition: Good antique and vintage condition. Both glass bodies are structurally sound and entirely free of chips, cracks, or deep structural fractures. The large ruby-red glass font displays expected age-appropriate surface weathering, including light storage scuffs and superficial micro-scratches along its bulbous midsection as shown in the catalog photos. The unglazed bottom footprint of the red glass features an authentic rough-pontil factory glass scar. The brass burners and crown frames on both lamps display a naturally aged dark matte patina with localized tarnish and minor surface rust oxidation settled within the wick channels. Both turn knobs remain firmly attached and mechanically functional.
