Item description:

Description: An early 20th-century antique industrial brass blow torch manufactured by Clayton & Lambert. This heavy-duty tool features a cylindrical solid brass fuel reservoir tank base with a flared bottom footprint. The top assembly is fitted with a heavy blackened cast iron burner nozzle cylinder, a knurled brass fuel filler pump cap, and an adjustable steel valve control wheel knob. Complete with its original side-mounted iron support bracket wrapped in a contoured red-painted wooden grip handle.
Dimensions: Stands approximately 10.5 inches in total height to the top of the iron burner assembly, with a base footprint diameter of 5.75 inches.
Markings: The front tank face retains its original multi-colored shield-shaped paper advertising label reading "C&L / PROTECTION / TRADE MARK / CLAYTON & LAMBER MFG. CO. / LOUISVILLE, KY. U.S.A." and listing historic US and Canadian patent strings. The reverse side features its original yellow and red safety decal reading "CAUTION / USE CLEAN GASOLINE / WIPE SPILLED GASOLINE FROM TANK BEFORE LIGHTING".
Condition: Authentic antique industrial workshop condition. The heavy brass fuel canister tank is structurally solid and free of major dents, showing an aged matte patina with localized green verdigris tracking around the lower base rim. The iron burner assembly exhibits standard historical carbon soot blackening and surface oxidation from practical utility use. Both paper decals are well-preserved with clear, legible text, displaying light surface scuffs and edge peeling as shown in the catalog photos. The mechanical pump plunger and control knob remain firmly attached.
