Robert Taylor limited-edition aviation print titled “The Tangmere Wing, 1941,” depicting RAF Spitfires of the famous Tangmere Wing over the English Channel during World War II.
This is one of the earlier and highly collectible Robert Taylor releases. The accompanying original promotional material identifies the edition as limited to 850 signed and numbered prints, each bearing four signatures.

Group Captain Sir Douglas Bader, CBE, DSO, DFC – legendary RAF fighter ace and commander of the Tangmere Wing
Group Captain Hugh “Cocky” Dundas, CBE, DSO, DFC, DL – distinguished RAF fighter pilot and Battle of Britain veteran
Air Vice-Marshal Johnnie Johnson, CB, CBE, DSO, DFC – one of the RAF’s highest-scoring Allied fighter aces of WWII
The print also carries the signature of Wing Commander Ken Holden, OBE, DFC, as identified beneath the image.
Accompanied by its Certificate of Authenticity and original collector/promotional literature detailing the print, signatures and historical background.
The artwork depicts Douglas Bader leading his Tangmere Wing Spitfires during 1941, a period in which the RAF conducted offensive fighter sweeps over occupied Europe.
