Maker: The Century Co. (St. Nicholas); Hammond Book Company (The Old Herb Doctor).
Details: Two antique hardcover volumes. Includes "St. Nicholas: An Illustrated Magazine for Young Folks" (Volume XV, Part II, May 1888 to October 1888), conducted by Mary Mapes Dodge, featuring a pictorial cloth cover and illustrated endpapers. Also includes "The Old Herb Doctor: His Secrets and Treatments" containing over 1000 recipes, featuring a textured brown cloth cover with an embossed Native American profile emblem.
Condition: Fair to good antique condition. St. Nicholas shows heavy rubbing, fraying, and wear along the spine edges, corners, and boards; the front inner hinge is completely split with visible binding mesh, though pages remain attached. The Old Herb Doctor is in overall good condition with light shelf wear to the cover and spine; internal pages are clean with light toning and a faint handwritten pencil notation on the title page.
