The Chippewa County 4-H Blue Ribbon Auction has a long tradition of supporting 4-Hers involved with showing livestock. Through the Blue Ribbon Auction, Local Businesses and People Support Local Youth. The Purpose of the Auction is to: *Encourage Growth of the Entire 4-H Program*Encourage 4-H Livestock Project Participation*Maintain Livestock Numbers in the County*Provide Training in Livestock Marketing*Encourage Improved Livestock Quality*Acquaint the Public with 4-H Livestock ProjectsHow do 4_Hers Participate in the Blue Ribbon Auction?-Youth are allowed into the auction after receiving a CHAMPION, RESERVE CHAMPION, or BLUE Ribbon. Buyers should check in at the clerking table to obtain a list of participants and their parents' name. Once the auction starts, buyers bid on the 4-H members' animals. This is a premium auction so animals are not actually purchased. The price that animals are "Sold" for is the premium amount 4-H members receive, less 20% that is retained to benefit the Chippewa County 4-H program as a whole.
