• THE THREE DISEASES THAT DEFOLIATE ROSES – Black spot strips leaves from the bottom up, powdery mildew grays new growth, rust pits the undersides. All three take hold in humid spells and all three are on the list.
• WHAT IT IS AND HOW TO USE IT – A 16 oz bottle of biological fungicide with the hose-end sprayer already fitted. Attach the hose, set the dial to ARBER, spray until the foliage is dripping. Nothing to mix.
• A BIOLOGICAL ACTIVE, NOT A MINERAL DUST – It is a bacterium rather than a copper or sulfur dust, which is a different kind of product to be spraying over open blooms.
• START EARLY AND KEEP THE CYCLE – Fungicides protect far better than they cure. Begin as the leaves come out, repeat every two weeks, and spray in calm weather with no rain forecast for 24 hours.
• HOW IT WORKS – The active is a beneficial microbe that settles onto leaf and root surfaces, where disease would otherwise establish. Read and follow the label before use.
