This vintage civilian version of the Redfield Accu-Range scope (Because of the more glossy black exterior), specifically the 3-9x40mm model with a range-finding reticle, was the original optic for the U.S. Marine Corps M40 sniper rifle starting in the Vietnam era, known for its dual stadia crosshairs and “tombstone” range indicator, often in a distinctive green or black anodized finish. Marines used these scopes on their M40 rifles for decades, establishing a significant legacy, though later models featured BDC turrets (Accu-Trac) that weren’t standard issue. “US-made in Denver”. The tombstone BDC range estimator on the lower left to 600 meters (slight damage on very top), clear lenses, and Leopold 1″ rings. Please see photos.
