This rifle retains its original well kept brown patina with a couple very small light dings on the barrel, the bore may be dark in appearance but still maintains evidence of its full rifling, the rear ladder sight still has clearly marked numbers and the front brass sight looks to be in great shape. The wood stock has the famous “Henry Bump”with a deep dark finish and brass buttplate with trapdoor. There is also a small crack at the very bottom underside tip where the wood meets the buttplate, there are also some small dents, dings, and scratches as all can be seen in the photos. There is still good follower spring strength in the 16 round magazine tube and the loading sleeve and sleeve latch rotate freely. The lever and action are smooth and functional The brass side plates and receiver have some dings and light scratches. Front and rear sling attachments are intact. There is a “W” stamp just behind the leaver locking knob on the bottom tang that depicts the inspector’s mark.
