Manufactured in 1988 as per serial number. The Colt MK IV Series 80 Government Model .380 is a compact, locked-breech, semi-automatic pistol with a 3.25-inch barrel and 2 – 7-rnd magazine, produced by Colt from 1983 to 19972. This model is scaled down to approximately 78 percent of a full-sized M1911 Government Model, but features a locked-breech system, which is unusual for .380 ACP pistols and contributes to its manageable recoil. It incorporates the Series 80 firing pin safety, which uses a trigger mechanism to block the firing pin from moving forward unless the trigger is pulled, a safety feature not present in the earlier Series 70 models. Blued finish with fixed sights, thumb safety, one piece stainless guide rod, checkered factory grips with gold medallion. Includes factory polymer case with papers, and original guide rod and spring. Please see photos.
