French bolt-action firearm that represents the final major evolution of the Berthier system. Originally designed for mounted troops, many M1890 cavalry carbines were later upgraded to the M16 (Mod�le 1916) standard during World War I to remain competitive against German five-shot Mausers. Bolt-action using the Berthier system, which combined a Lebel action with a Mannlicher-style clip system. In original matte blued finish with a wood strait stock, bent bolt handle, and an internal box magazine. Includes a leather sling. Has some surface pitting on the left side of the barrel, scratches, dents ,and dings on the stock. Please see photos. C&R
