�Collectable�! Original U.S. WWI Model 1904 Hospital Corps Bolo knife manufactured by Springfield Armory with scabbard dated 1911. There were over 40, 000 Hospital Corp knives manufactured at the Springfield Armory between 1904 and 1914. It is a heavy Bolo intended for use in the bush as a clearing device as well as a weapon. It was designed to help soldiers with jungle foliage like a machete. It has a 12� heavy curved blade with a curved cutting edge. Marked SA flaming bomb and 1911 in the left side of the brass cross guard, and U.S. with serial number 17710 on the right, walnut smooth grips with finger grooves set with brass pins.
