The Norinco SKS (officially the Chinese Type 56) is a rugged, semi-automatic, Cold War-era carbine chambered in 7.62 � 39mm. Built at state-owned arsenals and imported as surplus during the 1980s and 1990s, these rifles are highly favored for their chrome-lined barrels and durability.
