Condition: Very Good
Stamped U.S. L.F. & C. 1917 on the metal knuckle guard (the “1917” refers to the official adoption year/model. A 9-inch, triangular-section stiletto/spike blade designed for thrusting. A grooved wooden grip fitted with a steel “skull-crusher” pommel cap and a D-shaped metal knuckle guard featuring rows of pointed pyramidal spikes. An original, correct Jewell Belt and Company scabbard made to accompany the M1917 trench knife stamped �Jewell 1918� near the stitch line. The “MS” markings stamped on the metal throat and the tip are official inspector/subcontractor proof marks unique to Jewell’s production run. There is also a small “HE” stamp near the top suspension hook. The knife remains in very good condition and appears to be original and authentic. Please see the photos.
