Colt revolvers made during this year feature the “F” serial prefix, which was part of a consolidated transition block used for Colt D-frame models (including the Detective Special and Cobra) between 1973 and 1978. : Because it was built in 1974, this specific Cobra includes the distinct Third Issue shrouded ejector rod design, which protected the pin from damage if dropped.
