The Egyptian Maadi RPM is a fascinating AK-47 variant that emerged out of a collaboration between Egypt and the Soviet Union in the late 60’s early 70’s. Produced by the Maadi Company for Engineering Industries in Cairo, this rifle is a product of Cold War geopolitics, manufactured with the assistance of Soviet technicians who helped set up the production facilities. As a result, the Maadi RPM bears a striking resemblance to the Russian AKM and RPK but has a standard AK weight barrel length that lays between its two siblings. The Maadi RPM is more than just another AK-47 variant, it is a true piece of Cold War Era history. For collectors interested in Cold War-era firearms or those who have a soft spot for AK variants, the Maadi RPM is an interesting and somewhat rare find. It is chambered in the standard Comm Block 7.62x39mm cartridge, the Maadi RPM features a stamped receiver, in line with its AKM heritage.. It also follows the traditional pattern of design because they were manufactured on Soviet Russian supplied machinery, opting for a standard fixed wooden stock and wooden handguards, rather than synthetic materials. Includes OD canvas sling and bipod. No Magazine Included. Please see photos
