Manufactured in 1934 as per serial number. This Winchester model 42 was made in only the 2nd year of this model’s production run. This Model 42 is in very good condition for its age and features a 28� barrel with a 3� chamber and a fixed Full choke, a walnut ribbed forend and smooth pistolgrip stock with a LOP of 14�. The Winchester Model 42 was the first pump action shotgun designed to use the .410 bore cartridge, and is essentially a scaled down version of the classic Model 12. Marketed as “Everybody�s Sweetheart,” as well as “The Greatest Little Shotgun in the World,” the sleek, racy, fast-handling Model 42 was a hit with upland hunters and skeet shooters and continues to be popular with collectors. 164,800 Model 42s produced between 1933 and 1963 until Winchester discontinued production in preparation for the 1964 company restructuring. In its original blued finish with some areas of finish wear on the mag tube and under the barrel with very light freckling on the left side of the receiver. Please see photos.
