Collector Manufactured in 1889 as per serial number. This Winchester 1873 was one of the most famous Winchester rifles, known as The Gun that Won the West for its predominant role in the hands of Western settlers. More than 720,00 were produced from 1873 through 1923 and the gun is produced and used to this day. The Model 1873 has a steel frame that was much stronger than the brass framed Model 1866, allowing Winchester to develop a family of powerful new cartridges, with Colt usually producing Single Action Army revolvers in the same calibers shortly after they were developed. These included the .38-40. It has a 24 octagonal barrel chambered for .38-40. In its original patina and showing its browning from the traces of its original blued finish. It has a drift front blade and buckhorn rear sights, smooth American walnut forend and straight stock with a crescent steel buttplate. There are some cracks in the forend but not really “structural cracks and no cracks in the stock. There are some dings and scratches only. Please see photos. Antique No FFL Needed in most States.
