A truly, and absolute beauty of a piece! This is a piece of functional artwork. Hand made by Ken Netting. This musket is 64.5″ tall, the barrel is .62 caliber and 47″ long with some gorgeous scroll work on it as well as on the lock plate, side plate, and trigger guard. It is set into a gorgeous cherry stained walnut stock with some beautifully carved designs and a gold shield engraved SW on the upper neck. Ken Netting is a highly regarded, award-winning contemporary artisan and barrel maker celebrated for crafting historically accurate, exceptionally lightweight, and fast-handling flintlock muskets and fowlers. His custom .62 caliber builds (often called 20-gauge) are highly prized by traditional black-powder shooters, hunters and collectors. As a .62 caliber smoothbore, it can fire either a single round ball or a shot pattern, making it highly utilitarian for hunting a variety of North American game. His barrels are highly praised for their quality, traditionally paired with premium locks (like L&R locks) and premium walnut. Because these are handmade, custom firearms, they should only be shot with black powder or industry-approved black powder substitutes. Has signs of use with some scratches and dings, but really looks the part!! Please see photos.
