Collectors Manufactured in 1894 this Model 1886 also known as the Model 86. This rifle has been passed down through 1 family since new. So whoever wins it will be the second owner. A 1894 manufactured Winchester Model 1886 in .45-70 Govt with a half-round/half octagon barrel is a highly desirable, rare collector’s item, as this specific configuration accounts for only about 2.2% of total production but this example was a special order as well by the original owner. These rifles are coveted for their John Browning design and durability. The barrel is a blued 26 lightweight half octagon profile chambered for .45-70 Government. The magazine is not a full length tube which also gives some weight savings. The receiver, lever, hammer, and front forend cap are case colored. The top chamber cover, trigger, and loading gate are blued, It has a drift adjustable front sight, a folding notch with long range mid ladder/leaf sight marked from 200-1000 yards and stamped with the rifles model number 1886 at the top, as well as a special ordered tang mounted Lyman rear peep sight mounted on the rear. The forend and stock are a Beautiful American walnut with a checkered round bottom pistol grip, straight comb, and a bakelite checkered moulded factory Winchester logo buttplate. This Deluxe model rifle was ordered from Winchester directly from the factory with all what you see here. It is in Very Good overall condition as Antique. This rifle is Beautiful and will make a great addition to any Winchester or lever rifle collection. There are some signs of use with some very light scratches and some spiderwebbing, and a small chip on the left side of the bakelite buttplate. It has very light spotting on some of the blued areas with some light fading of the first stamped lettering on the top on the barrel but still very legible. Please see photos!!! Antique.
