Collectors. Pistole 640(b) as designated by the Germans. This WWII Hi-Power was manufactured during the German occupation of Belgium (May 1940-September 1944). By serial number with the suffix “b” is the production block showing this pistol was made late1944 before the Allied forces liberated the factory . It is in Fantastic condition for its age with its original blued finish with some light scratches and finish wear. Along with the standard Fabrique Nationale D’Armes De Guerre Herstal-Belgique and Browning’s Patent Depose role stamping on the left side of the slide there is a “WaA140” Waffenamt inspection stamp and on left side of the frame just above the trigger and the Nazi Eagle over swastika Waffenamt stamp beside it. Initials “MR” are stamped on the right side trigger guard. Under the left grip the frame has a “3. There are more proof stamps on the heel of the grip and LGK 00 OVER 1622 on the lower front strap of the grip frame as well as on the bottom of the magazine floor plate showing that the magazine is original to the gun (see in photos). Because of the 13 rnd capacity of the magazine these Hi-Powers were issued to the SS and Fallschirmjager units. These last of the run pistols also have fixed sights instead of the tangent rear adjustable sights from previous pistols in order to simplify production. The grips are checkered wood but some were produced with plastic later closer to the final production run. “This is A Highly Prized Collectable WWII Pistol”. Includes a vintage FN cardboard box with the name Gressenbauer followed by the numbers 39074 which might have been from another pistol. Please see photos!!! C&R
