The Remington Model 550-1 is a classic, discontinued semi-automatic .22 caliber rifle, renowned for its unique “floating chamber” design which allows it to reliably fire .22 Short, .22 Long, and .22 Long Rifle ammunition interchangeably without any manual adjustments. It was manufactured from 1946 to 1970. Known for its robust, all-steel construction, a feature that distinguishes it from some later, more cost-effectively manufactured rifles. The tubular magazine holds up to 15 rounds of .22 LR or up to 22 rounds of .22 Short ammunition.
