The Beeman Tempest is an iconic, compact, single-shot spring-piston air pistol, originally manufactured by Webley & Scott in England and later under license for Beeman. It is popular for plinking and casual target practice due to its robust build, compact size, and good power for its size.It is available in both .177 and .22 calibers. The .177 version generally has a higher velocity, rated around 420 FPS, while the .22 version is around 350 FPS. The Tempest is equipped with a blade-type front sight and a rear sight that is adjustable for both windage and elevation, though adjustments are made by loosening screws and sliding, which can be less precise than click-adjust systems. The pistol uses a spring-piston, single-shot mechanism with a classic forward-hinging, break-barrel design for cocking and loading.The frame is typically made of metal with a black epoxy finish, while the grips are often a durable plastic with a thumb rest for comfortable handling.
