Any German Military Luger made prior to 1915 can be considered to be scarce as production was not large in the preceding years. In 1914, 38,000 were manufactured and in 1915, production rose to 105,000 for the first full year of World War I. This example retains 95+% of its original finish, matching numbers except for the magazine in which there is no number but a small circle with triangle marking on the wood base plate for could represent WWI German Navy. This pistol has all Waffenamts indicating Imperial Germany. This is pistol represents the very start of the WWI production. Please see photos. C&R
