Manufactured in 1922 as per serial number. The Colt Army Special (later renamed the Colt Official Police in 1927) was a medium-frame “E-frame” revolver that served as a cornerstone of Colt’s double-action lineup. It was built to be a more durable “modern” design, laying the groundwork for the service revolvers used by military and police throughout the mid-1900s. It featured a 6” barrel as a standard option, a swing out 6 shot fluted cylinder, and a solid frame, fixed sights, a rounded checkered cylinder release, Colt checkered bakelite grips, and a smooth trigger.. They were manufactured as late as 1927 still in .32-20 WCF. Shows signs of use and looks to have been re parkerized at some point. Please see photos. C&R
