Unlike a standard AR-15 pistol, the PLR-16 utilizes a long-stroke gas piston system combined with an AR-15 style multi-lug rotating bolt. Because the recoil spring is built directly into the upper receiver rather than a buffer tube, the rear of the firearm is completely flush. This bufferless design makes the gun exceptionally compact and allows users to attach folding braces or register it as a Short Barreled Rifle (SBR) to add a folding stock. Please see Photos!
