This is a beautiful, highly unique Remington M1903A3 Custom Sporter chambered in .30-06 Springfield. Built in late 1942 (Serial No. 3012606), this rifle holds an incredible piece of verified Pacific Theater history, featuring a documented top-of-barrel military stamp reading: "RBLT.O.B.S.3 16.12.14." This confirms the rifle was combat-evacuated and entirely rebuilt by the U.S. military at Ordnance Base Section 3 in Brisbane, Australia, on December 16, 1944. Following the war, it was expertly transformed into a premium mid-century hunting rifle. The custom wood stock is in great shape, featuring a high-contrast black forend cap, white line spacers on the pistol grip and butt plate, and its original, vintage red Mershon "White Line Junior" recoil pad (showing period-correct weathering/flaking). The bore is clean with sharp, excellent rifling, and the internal magazine holds a standard 5-round capacity. Topping off this incredible time capsule is a period-correct, vintage steel-tube Weaver K4 4x fixed scope on a custom mount. Whether you are an appreciator of WWII Pacific logistics or vintage American gunsmithing craftsmanship, this historic, smooth-handling heirloom shooter is ready for the range or the collection.
