This custom 1995 FN/Browning Hi-Power Mk III single-action pistol (Serial Number: 2W5NV55411) features master-tier customization by late Master Pistolsmith Jim Garthwaite, completed in April 2019. Chambered in .40 S&W, this 1.875 lb combat handgun measures 7 ¾ inches in overall length with a 4 ?-inch barrel. The firearm was acquired in near-mint, low-use condition and upgraded with a sleek Ionbond DLC/PVD Black Satin finish. The fire control group consists of a Garthwaite commander hammer, matching sear, upgraded safety, a professional trigger job, and a custom Garthwaite flat-face trigger tuned to a crisp 4-pound break. The internals run on authentic Browning OEM components and Wolff springs, including a heavy-duty 22 lb recoil spring to manage the hard-hitting .40 S&W caliber.
The custom slide work includes a flattened top with anti-glare grooves, a checkered rear face to eliminate reflections, a manufacturer's accent groove along the slide stop, and a 24kt gold dot front sight paired with a Heinie rear sight. The frame incorporates a perfectly blended custom beavertail, a polished feed ramp and throat, a complete de-horn treatment, and aggressive stippling on both the front and back straps. The pistol is fitted with premium Hogue Cocobolo wood grips and houses a custom-fit Barsto barrel, with a spare custom-fit Barsto barrel included.
