Manufactured by F�G in Hungary, this 48M is the (M44)pattern Mosin-Nagant carbine configured with a 20.5� barrel and chambered for 7.62x54R. This carbine is a desirable �02� F�G manufacturer code, a 1952 date stamp on the receiver, and the Hungarian state crest. A round stock cartouche is present, and with matching serial numbers. The correct M44 hardware is retained, including the integral side folding spike bayonet, two barrel bands with spring retainers, a full-length upper handguard, an under barrel cleaning rod, a hooded front post and a tangent rear sight with a sliding elevation cursor. The hardwood stock features sling slots and a steel buttplate. The bolt configuration uses a straight bolt handle with a round knob and a cocking knob safety. Appears to have been an un-issued carbine. Includes a black nylon sling. Please see photos.
