The styling is Italian, and the engineering is German. The coachwork was designed by Ghia, built by Karmann and everything else is VW. Built from 1955 to 1974, it pairs the utilitarian chassis of a VW Beetle with a design from the guys responsible for the Ferrari 212 Inter, the Jaguar XK140 coupe, and the Lincoln Futura. Extensively rebuilt over the course of eighteen months, and at a cost that no sane person who bear, with a parchment interior and a stunning Candy-Apple exterior it’s a sure-fire crowd-pleaser. This is a 2+2, air-cooled icon, looking for its next caretaker. Will need a new clutch cable as the threaded end has stripped.
