Spud is a handsome, well-built gelding with the size, disposition, and versatility to make an exciting prospect for a variety of disciplines.
Spud received a solid 30 days of training as a two-year-old before being turned out to grow through the winter. He was brought back into work this summer and will continue to be ridden and progressed consistently leading up to the sale.
While Spud is still green, he has a solid foundation and a naturally relaxed, balanced lope. He understands the basics and is learning to move his shoulders and hindquarters, side pass, and respond thoughtfully to his rider. He has also been exposed to a variety of experiences, including roping, trails, obstacles, and cows.
With his willing attitude, calm demeanour, and foundation, Spud would be a great prospect for someone looking to take a young horse and continue developing him. I believe he has the potential to excel in a number of disciplines, with ranch work, ranch versatility, and roping being particularly well suited to him.
Spud has a fun, goofy personality and takes new experiences in stride. He is personable, easy to get along with, and is respectfully in your pocket. He is the type of young horse that is enjoyable to have around and exciting to watch develop.
He loads, ties, bathes, and stands well for the farrier. He is up to date on dental work, vaccinations, and deworming.
A well-bred, eye-catching young gelding with a great mind and plenty of potential. Spud is the kind of prospect that will turn heads now, and will only get better with time and miles.
