Hi, my name is Cali Smithson. I am in Grade 4 and a junior member of the Meadowview 4-H Club in Barrhead, Country Alberta.My steer, Chonky #10, is an Angus/Simmental cross. My cousins raised Chonky #10 as a bottle calf on our family ranch in Rosebud.It has been great to watch Chonky #10 grow from a little steer into what he is today—I could not have asked for a better steer.He loves to be petted and has “golden retriever” energy. Chonky #10 is friendly, well cared for, and has been a great first 4-H project.He is on a complete grain ration and is fed oat/alfalfa hay. As of April 25, he weighed 1,462 lbs and is expected to be over 1,500 lbs by show day.He will make a great addition to your freezer with high-quality beef.I plan to use my sale proceeds to go toward a new horse and a steer for next year, and I will also be putting some money into savings.Thank you for taking the time to look at my sale ad.
