1978 Corvette Pace Car
One of the most beautiful and recognizable Corvettes ever produced, the 1978 Indianapolis 500 Pace Car was an instant classic. Created by Chevrolet to pace the 62nd Indy 500 race on May 28 1978. It became the biggest hit at the New York Auto show in Feb of that year which created massive dealer demand. Early cars sold easily for over double MSRP as unprecedented demand caused massive mark-ups.
Distinctive two tone Black and Silver paint scheme along with bold Pace Car decals gave this special car its famous stunning original appearance. A first for Corvette, the 78 Pace Car also featured silver leather interior along with gray dash, door panels and carpet. Reflective t-tops complete the amazing visuals.
Privately owned and displayed in a collection since June of 2011, this car has been cherished with the respect and care it deserves. Always stored indoors and lot driven yearly. Car was imported into Canada in July of 2010 from Kentucky USA. Documents include Pennsylvania title showing first registration on the 16 of June 1978. With amazing exterior and interior preservation this car shows incredibly well and presents as one of the best remaining examples anywhere in the world. Odometer shows only 48730 miles.
