The Nepalese Gahendra rifle is a single-shot, breech-loading black powder military rifle chambered in the iconic .577/450 Martini-Henry cartridge. Manufactured by hand in Nepal during the early 1880s under the direction of General Gehendra Shamsher JBR, it was designed to quickly equip Gurkha regiments with a weapon that superficially resembled the modern British Martini-Henry service rifle.
