The Yugoslavian M48 and M48A are post-World War II bolt-action rifles based on the Mauser design system, produced by Zastava Arms (Factory 44). They are highly popular in the military surplus market due to their durable construction and excellent preservation. The M48A was produced from (1952–1956): Modified to feature a stamped sheet metal floorplate to reduce manufacturing time and costs. Unlike the standard German Karabiner 98k, which uses a “large ring” long action, the Yugoslavian M48 utilizes an intermediate-length receiver derived from the pre-war Belgian FN Model 1924. The action is roughly ¼” shorter than a K98k, meaning that bolts, stocks, and certain receiver parts are not interchangeable between German K98k and Yugo M48 rifles. This is an all matching number rifle with front blade and rear tangent sights from 200-2000 meters, blued finish, military wood stock with internal 5rnd magazine, cupped steel buttplate, bayonet lug, cleaning rod, and a bent bolt. Includes a leather military sling. There are signs of use with scratches and dings in the stock. Please see photos.
