Parcel 1 Lot 2  is part of a 928 acre ranch Northwest of Butte, Montana.  It was purchased and set up as a cattle ranch in 1869. (Butte was the ‘boomtown’ of the state during this era due to the huge mines in the area.)  The original homestead house and several outbuildings from that era are still standing, some (a small barn, a chicken coop/barn and a garage) are still being used today!  A second house on the property is still standing, but has not been used for quite some time.  There are 12 natural springs on the property; over the years a couple of them have been improved for great livestock water access.

The current owners’ grandparents bought this ranch in 1952, made extensive improvements, and ran a successful cattle operation on the land, passed it on to their son; he continued the cattle operation, either raising his own or leasing the ranch to other cattlemen until his death in 2000.  His niece and nephew now own the ranch, and continue to lease it out for cattle.
